Onboarding Specialist for VFX Artists

We are looking for a new colleague who could help us drive the success of our team, and would be mainly responsible for supporting new artists, communicating possible issues, and documenting workflows and processes. As this is mostly an administrative position, the ideal candidate has to be communicative, a fast learner, able to understand and describe essential ways of working in our studio, and pass this knowledge to both our inhouse and remote artists in the form of video calls, and short written / video recorded tutorials.

Responsibilities

  • Be a primary point of contact for new artists, and help them to start working efficiently as fast as possible.
  • Keep in touch with remote artists and ensure they are able to perform their work using hardware and software resources provided by UPP.
  • Help to document department workflows and processes in cooperation with department supervisors, and update them as needed.
  • Communicate any issues to the department supervisors.
  • Assist department supervisors with administrative tasks if requested

Qualification

  • Excellent communication skills in both  Czech and English are necessary
  • Ability to understand and demonstrate basic technical / pipeline workflows established in our studio.
  • Basic ability to edit Wikipedia using WYSIWYG / html editor
  • Ability to establish priorities and work with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to record and edit video tutorials in English
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced collaborative production environment

 

Bonus points

  • Prior experience working in VFX / animation / postproduction studio
  • Some experience with one or more industry standard vfx software (Maya, Houdini, Blender, Nuke)
