Houdini TD
UPP Advertising is looking for a skilled TD, who would help us design, develop and maintain artist tools, with primary focus on Houdini. This position requires a solid knowledge of Houdini, HDA workflows, Python and VEX, and an ability to integrate your tools into our existing pipeline.
We are on the lookout for candidates that will be able to work full-time and in-house in our award-winning studio located in beautiful Prague, Czechia, but for the right candidate we would consider also a remote cooperation.
Skills and qualifications:
- Previous TD experience
- Excellent knowledge of Houdini, PDG, Python, and VEX
- Ability to develop artist tools, maintain them and document them
- Thorough understanding of VFX workflows
- A resourceful and proactive technical problem solver
- Positive attitude, excellent communication and time management skills
- Good English speaker
- Reliable in assessing and meeting deadlines
Responsibilities:
- Closely cooperate with artists and pipeline TDs
- Provide documentation for your scripts, tools, or processes.
- Verify and test functionality of your scripts.
- Continuously improve knowledge, skills, techniques, related to software packages you develop for.
- Cooperate with, and support other team members, be responsive to their requests
- Share knowledge and techniques with the team
Bonus points:
- Knowledge and ability to develop for one or more additional software platforms: Maya, Nuke, Flame
- Ability to work with, and troubleshoot Redshift, Arnold and/or Karma rendering
- Knowledge of USD workflows
