Layout Artist – UPP ADVERTISING

If you are a 3D Layout Artist who knows that they have the creative and professional potential to design and block out full CG creative shots for high-end commercials, videogame trailers and music videos then keep reading!

This position requires a firm grasp of cinematography and how real/virtual cameras and lenses work, as well as the ability to creatively direct a shot, and block out its composition and camera movements in 3D space. The ability to do basic modelling/animation and camera tracking is a considerable plus.

We are on the lookout for candidates that will be able to work full-time and in-house in our award-winning studio located in beautiful Prague, Czechia.

Ideal candidate:

• 5+ years in VFX industry, preferably advertisement or other kind of fast paced VFX production
• Expertise in using industry standard VFX software at a professional level. Our preferred platform is Houdini, but we will consider candidates skilled in Maya or Blender
• An excellent eye for picture composition, perspective and creative camera work
• Technical knowledge for building layout scenes efficiently; ability to follow the studio workflows and procedures, so your outputs can be used by other artists down the line
• Talent to art direct and organize your own tasks, make creative decisions and communicate them effectively and respectfully with supervisors and other 3D artists
• Reliability in assessing and meeting deadlines

Bonus points:

• Ambition to grow into, or readiness for a leadership role is highly valued
• Experience with other VFX disciplines, especially camera tracking, is a considerable plus
• Working knowledge  of Houdini is a plus
• Working knowledge of Unreal Engine
